OutOfDolls:- Lulu was nineteen when she went on her first Pilgrimage with Lady Ginnem. Upon failing that Pilgrimage, she returned to Besaid only to leave again with Father Zuke and Wakka. She went on two Pilgrimage’s in the same year and failed both.

ooc:- I shall answer this out of character as you wouldn’t get much from her any way.

Her favourite doll is her beloved Moogle that she has of course named Mog. It was the first doll she made so naturally has a special sort of attachment to it.

Lulu’s core element is Thunder, so prefers using this in battle, though she has been known to rather enjoy status effects such as Bio, and relishes using Ultima due to the sheer force it uses, not to mention it is also a very powerful spell. Favourite quip for the use of black magic would be ‘Nice knowing you.’ For a white magic spell, it would be Holy, again because of it’s sheer force. I’m not sure if she would have a quip for it, but I imagine it would be ‘To the Farplane with you.’ Or something similar.

Place. Lulu is quite content in Besaid, though she does have a soft spot for the Moonflow and the Thunder Plains. Lulu has always been enchanted by the Moon Lilies and has a quiet respect for the power of the Thunder on the plains, this is due to her affinity with the element itself.

It wasn’t often that she did something like this, and not when there was a chance of anyone disturbing her. But it was one of those rare nights where she could guarantee her privacy. A large shirt had been pulled on after a hot bath and wet obsidian tresses cascaded down her back and over her shoulders.

Though machina was few and far between even with the downfall of Yevon, the stoic mage had managed to acquire one that played music and this was how she chose to spend her down time. A glass of wine had been poured and with it in hand she moved to play the track that helped her unwind the most. The sound of drums, piano and bass filled her ears and spoke to her body. Raising her arms slightly and mindful of the liquid she carried, bare feet padded and slid across the smooth wooden floor of her home. White cloth slid carelessly over her curvaceous form as she lightly swung her hips in time with the music that filled her home, painted lips miming along with the words that poured from the shell shaped speaker. It was in these times that the usually reserved woman felt free, felt that she could let go of her inhibitions. Long legs moved it a fluid fashion as shoulders swayed and rocked in an almost sensual fashion. This was a past time the stoic would indulge in when ever possible, knowing that once the wine had been consumed and her little solo dance had been performed, she would wake in the morning feeling refreshed and able to return to the confines she had built for herself.

As well as making her dolls, Lulu also makes her own clothes by hand. If brought the proper materials and asked in a polite and proper fashion (and not too often) she will make items of clothing for other people according to their specification and design.

Magic training

Though Lulu no longer has a summoner to guard, she still trains herself daily with her magic. Normally she will use a doll as a sparring partner, but there are times when she will train alone. It is during these times that she will focus on manipulating the spell.

It is during these times that she will dance. Though she has had no sort of training, the style she seems to prefer is akin to ballet, though most would describe it as contemporary dance. It is through these elegant movements that she will engulf herself in flames, or create something like an electrical storm so that she may move freely whilst manipulating the spell to follow her movements. This is a time when she feels truly free, that she can let go and simply enjoy her heritage. Anyone that manages to catch her doing this is will be very privileged indeed, as they will see a very different side to her personality.

Many have often wondered why Lulu covers her left eye so heavily with her hair. After her first pilgrimage with Lady Ginnem, the Mage returned alone and with her long black hair covering her eye. At first no one paid it any mind, but over time they noticed that no matter how she styled it, that same piece of thick black hair would remain over her left eye. Some thought she had done it to add to her air of mystery, the truth is she is blind in that eye.

It was the day Lady Ginnem died and part of the reason that the summoner moved to protect the young Guardian. Moments before that fatal decision, the monster they had been fighting had thrown a spell at the Mage. Lulu had deflected most of it, but a remnant of the attack scorched her eye. There is no visible scarring to the flesh surrounding the eye any more, the years having faded the darker, flesh, but her eye is visibly different. Where the healthy one is a deep crimson, the blinded one is a milky shade of it’s counterpart. The reason she keeps it covered is because she doesn’t want others to know of her carelessness. It is a physical reminder that she could not protect the summoner.

There is one factor as to why this Black Mage is so different from the other inhabitants of Besaid, for she was not born there. Lulu was in fact born in the sacred city of Bevelle.

Bevelle had a small army of Black Mages, a line of defence against Sin should it ever attack the Heart of Yevon. Their duty was to protect the Temple that housed the Fayth of Bahamut, the lord of the skies. It was here that Lulu’s parents met their end.
During an attack from Sin, the Black Mages were deployed to protect the Temple, they knew that they could not defeat it, but it was their task to drive it away with their Black Magic.

Destruction befell the Holy City of Yevon, many losing their lives in the process. Lulu’s mother managed to take her young daughter to safety, only to return to the front line of battle, it was then that her mother and father, plus countless other Black Mages were wiped out, the magical bloodline destroyed forever.
There is a strong possibility that Lulu is the last living Black Mage in Spira, her pale skin, dark hair and deep crimson eyes being a physical trait of that bloodline, one that she has not seen in anyone else during her travels as Guardian.
