‘I think so,’ he nodded, looking at the glass of wine, scolding it for making him feel tired. He set the glass down on the bedside table. ‘Would you be offended if I went to bed?’ he asked, his eyes growing heavy. ‘You could always summon me into one of you book worlds and scold me for it,’ he attempted a joke, clearly not understanding the concept of reading.
Lulu canted her head, the joke clearly lost on her, but she offered him a smile regardless. “I think I shall retire also.” Swinging her slender legs over the side of the bed, she picked up her night gown and headed for the bathroom. “I shall do my best not to disturb you when I return.” As a force of habit, she bowed to the silver haired man and turned to open the bathroom door.
