He took off his gloves and placed his hand on her forehead. It was unnaturally hot. “…Shh…don’t speak, Lulu…Save your strength.” Though, she had already said the words she wanted to say, and words that would spark off Cloud in a bit of defense, in spite of herself.
Pointing to his left arm, where his Geostigma was located, he shook his head. “…Like this disease, right? There’s always a cure. Don’t just lay around and wait to die. I won’t let you, even if you let yourself.”
There was little doubt in the Lions mind that he needed to get home quickly, something in him was urging him to hurry so he did. Moving through the streets he rushed back home, praying to anyone who would listen that Lulu would be alright…that he had time to get home.
Crimson eyes following to where he indicated to himself, focusing on the stigma that afflicted his own body. She knew that he suffered, knew that it caused him pain, but she also knew that she had come to the end of her own battle. Raising her hand, she placed it lightly over the Geostigma. “Your fight isn’t over, mine is. I know my end is very near, there is nothing left to fight.”
The mage knew she sounded defeatist, but she also knew all too well when to admit defeat. “You can’t save me…”
